Every ranch in the Beef2Institution program employs Regenerative farming practices that improve soil health, increase biodiversity, and restore our ecosystems.

Our beef comes from cattle raised grazing on open rangelands without confinement, hormones, or antibiotics.

Feeding Underserved Communities

Our mission is providing nutritionally dense food to traditionally underserved communities, helping to reverse decades long trends in schools and hospitals.

Compared to conventional grain-finished beef, grass-fed beef has:

  • More heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids

  • More iron and antioxidant vitamins, such as vitamins C and E

  • More immune protecting phytochemicals

A Collaborative Passion Project

Beef2Institution started as a pilot program in 2018 led by Health Care Without Harm, Community Alliance With Family Farmers, and TomKat Ranch Educational Foundation.

Together with Oakland-based whole-animal butchery Cream Co. Meats and our growing network of family farms, we have since created the largest aggregation of Ecological Outcome Verified Regenerative grass-fed beef in California.
